Contraindications
1. Do not use if you have an infection
2. Has to be removed daily
3. Remove before intercourse

6. Endometriosis has been raised as a contraindication of this pessary. Its always best to get the advice of your Dr first.
Insertion of the Cube pessary- BEFORE YOU BEGIN DO SOME BREATHING EXERCISES AND RELAX THE PELVIC FLOOR MUSCLES
(You may find it easier to insert in the standing position)
1. Empty the bladder
2. Put lubrication on the leading edges of the cube pessary
3. As shown in the first diagram, press the edges of the pessary with the thumb and the two first fingers. (Use the dominant hand for this)
4. With the non dominant hand, spread the labia (lips) of the vagina open ready to insert
5. Insert the cube pessary so the string or silicone tail is toward the entrance of the vagina.
6. Push up the cube pessary until comfortable.
Removal of the Cube pessary BEFORE YOU BEGIN DO SOME BREATHING EXERCISES AND RELAX THE PELVIC FLOOR MUSCLES
(You may find it easier to remove in a squatting position or lying on your side with one leg bent)
1. Empty the bladder
2. Put a generous amount of lubrication on the fingers of the dominant hand
3. Gently release the suction buy putting your fingers and thumb between the cube pessary and the vaginal walls
4. Ease the pessary out. NEVER PULL ON THE STRING OR SILICONE TAIL this may tear the vaginal mucus membrane.
Tip: After removal of the cube pessary the suction may have put pressure on the walls of the vagina. Place some lubrication or your oestrogen cream on the walls of the vagina and gently massage the inside of the vagina to bring blood flow to the muscles.
