YOUR pessary is designed to help YOU cope better with your prolapse issues and understand how pessaries can help as a conservative method to support pelvic organ prolapses. With over 50% of women beind diagnosed with some kind of pelvic organ prolapse there is a growing need for some kind of internal support that can offer women a better quality of life.
Pessaries can be used pre or post surgery or instead of surgery. Pessaries will not cure a prolapse but they will offer internal support which can reduce pain caused by the prolapse.
Some of those women have heart wrenching stories to tell, some are only just finding out what pelvic organ prolapse is all about and some are veterans who have taken the journey with a few bumps on the way and have grown stronger through it all to help those who are just starting out.
Some women who have had a miscarriage due to incompetence cervix may find that a pessary worn during the duration may just be the answer between life or death for her new baby.
Whether you are 18 or 80 pelvic organ prolapse issues are life changing. Pessaries are a conventional non surgical method to help offer a quality of life that otherwise would be debilitating.
For further help regarding clinics, physiotherapists, pelvic organ prolapse advice - POPE - Pelvic Organ Prolapse Education This non-profit organisation helps put women on the right path to finding answers and results to pelvic organ prolapse.
I started learning about pessaries after inventing IncoStress to help my own mother. (read the full story)
IncoStress has won many International multi award since 2008 and this year 2014 C&G Medciare Ltd was presented by the Global Womens Innovation and Invention Network at the International Invention Show in London the Gold award for Best training and capacity building award.
in 2006 I set up C&G Medicare Ltd in memory of my mother who suffered severely with stress incontinence which led to severe depression. Sadly Brexit put so much strain on the business that we had no choice but to close leaving patients stranded for pessaries and an excellent service that we always provided. I then moved the business to Belgium and set up a full pessary training for clinicians in collaboration with BICAP for the practical side.
I run Pfilates classes online as well as continue my educational talks to both professionals and patients.
Pessaries aren't suitable for everyone but around 85% of women will have success with one that they find helpful in giving them back their quality of life. Some women even wear 2 pessaries at the same time to combat different prolapses. Some use a pessary and a natural sea sponge to support the internal organs. Most women will find that just one pessary is sufficient for their needs.
There are many pessaries available and on this site I have listed the top manufacturers of pessaries along with their recommendations. Nothing is set in stone ladies! If you find a pessary that suits you yet isn't meant for your particular prolapse then there is nothing wrong with using that, as long as it gives you back a quality of life you can get on with.
If there is something extra you would like to see on this site please email me.
Well ladies, that's all from me. I hope you can benefit from this site as this is your site.
